Can Dogs Eat Marshmallows

Can Dogs Eat Marshmallows?

The answer to this question depends upon your definition of “can”. There are many definitions, but they all have one thing in common: they all define it as meaning “can eat” or “cannot eat”, which means that if you were to ask someone what can dogs cannot eat, the correct response would be something like can’t swallow. But don’t worry! If you’re asking a dog owner, the answer will most likely be “anything.”

However, there are some things that dogs CAN eat. Some of these include:

Fruit (including apples)

Vegetables (including potatoes)

Meat (even raw meat!)* and fish** **Although not recommended, some dogs may enjoy canned tuna and salmon.

Eggs

Nuts (especially almonds)

Flour (although wheat isn’t usually considered a food for dogs, it’s still okay for them to eat occasionally)*** ***If you’re feeding your dog a diet with flour, make sure it’s whole grain. Flours can cause digestive issues in some dogs.

For the rest of us, anything goes! Dogs love everything except for…well everything else! But the rest of us have to watch what we eat, or else we’ll get stomach aches!

Stomach Aches, Icky!

One icky thing that can happen if you eat the wrong foods is stomach aches. Stomach aches can lead to throwing up. If a dog eats the wrong things, they can throw up too…and that’s pretty much the same!

Dogs can also get indigestion. If your dog has eaten the wrong things, they may have an upset stomach. It may be really smelly, and it will definitely be messy!

Dogs are resilient though. If you throw up once or twice from eating something that doesn’t agree with you, your body usually adjusts and you (or in this case your dog) won’t throw up again. You’ll be able to eat those things without getting sick again!

People are more complicated than dogs (although some would disagree), and sometimes stomach aches can be serious. If you’re sick a lot, or if you have stomach pain that won’t go away, you should see a doctor or go to the hospital. The same is true for dogs! If your dog is throwing up a lot, or if their stomach is swollen, they may have something more serious wrong.

It’s best to take them to the veterinarian!

In conclusion, don’t let all this talk of stomach aches and throwing up scare you. As long as your dog eats healthy food, they probably won’t get sick. But if they do eat something that makes them feel icky, give them lots of love and care, and they’ll be back to normal in no time!

Well? What do you think?

I’d love to hear your thoughts on this post in the comments!

Do you have any questions about dogs or dogs and people food?

Please share them too! Don’t be afraid to ask anything, although I can’t promise I’ll know the answer to everything.

Now go hug your dog (or someone else’s) and tell them how much you love them!
