My Labradoodle Loves Me So Much That I Have To Stop Eating Him!
I am writing this post because I want to share with everyone what happened when my beloved dog didn’t eat his food anymore. You might think it was just me or maybe the other dogs around us were doing something wrong, but no! It wasn’t them at all!
My Labradoodle (named Lucky) always ate his meals and now he doesn’t anymore. He hasn’t eaten anything since yesterday morning. I don’t know if it’s because he got sick or something else, but he just doesn’t seem hungry anymore.
He used to love his food so much that even when I would make him some, he wouldn’t stop licking it off the plate and then lick up any bits left over from the bowl. Now, whenever I bring out a new dish of food, he’ll sit there until its gone. When I try to feed him one bite at a time, he looks very upset and doesn’t eat at all.
I’m sure you’re wondering what could have caused this problem. Well, I’ve been feeding Lucky every day for the past few months now and I thought things were going well until last night. Last night while we were watching TV, he suddenly started whimpering like a baby. I thought he wanted to go out for a walk so I took him outside. However, he wasn’t able to move around much and I was forced to pick him up and carry him back inside.
I put him in his bed with two pillows and a blanket and I layed next to him until he went to sleep. When he woke up this morning, he still wouldn’t eat any of his food. I thought it might be something he ate so I picked out one of his favorite treats and he wouldn’t even go near it.
I feel so helpless and don’t know what else to do for him. He’s always been such a happy dog that I can’t imagine how sad he must be feeling right now. Whenever I pet him or try to give him some love, he pushes my hand away and won’t let me touch him anymore.
I’ve never known a dog to act like this and I don’t know what else to do. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much,
Bryan, thank you for telling us about this problem that your dog has. From what you told us, it sounds like his tail is wagging when you’re around him, which is a good sign that he still loves you. It also sounds like he’s tired all the time which is also a sign that he isn’t feeling well.
It’s possible that he could have an infection or have eaten something that didn’t agree with him. If you can, you might want to take him to a vet to see if he can figure out what’s wrong with your dog.
Other than that, it also sounds like he may have depression. This isn’t uncommon in dogs that are older or may have health problems. If this is the case with your dog, then all you can do is give him lots of love and try to keep his spirits up as much as you can.
As for his not eating, you can try tempting treats or make home cooked meals for him to see if he will eat anything, but he sounds so sick that he may not be able to keep anything down for long.
In any case, we hope that your dog feels better soon. If you have any more questions about this problem, please feel free to ask us for help.
