Petcube Review: A Pet-Friendly Camera?
The first thing that comes to mind when you hear the word “pet” is cats and dogs.
But what if pets were not only animals but also living creatures with feelings like us humans?
That’s exactly what petcubes are all about! These devices are designed specifically for your dog or cat to live in comfort, so they don’t have to worry about being cold or hot all day long. They’re made from durable materials such as glass and metal, which means they’ll last forever. You can even connect them to your home Wi-Fi network so you can check up on them whenever you want.
Petcubes are a great way to keep your furry friends happy and healthy too! There are many different types of petcubes available out there, each one tailored for their specific needs. Some of these include:
Petcube 1 – For Dogs & Cats Only
There are two main types of petcubes, those that are for dogs and those that are for cats. Each type has its own advantages and disadvantages. If you have a small dog or cat, then it might be best to go with the petcube for your pets because they’re smaller than regular cameras. Owners of larger dogs would be better off with the regular petcube because it has a larger camera lens, which lets in more light and makes it easier to see your pet.
Petcube WiFi & Petcube Bites – For All Pets
The WiFi version of the petcube is great for owners who want their animals to have a bit more freedom. The regular camera captures images at 320 x 240 resolution, which is fine for pets that stay indoors or in a fenced-in back yard. However, if you want to be able to see what your pet is up to when they’re roaming free on a hike, at the park or somewhere similar then the WiFi version is the way to go.
You can connect the WiFi petcube to your home Wi-Fi network and then access it through the Petcube app on your phone. This lets you see exactly what your pet is up to from anywhere in the world!
Petcube Bites are a great way to keep track of your pets’ feeding times. Many pet owners have a difficult time remembering exactly when they should feed their pets, which often results in either overfeeding or underfeeding. The Petcube bites camera feeds video clips of your pets to your phone at set intervals, so you always know when it’s feeding time. You can also use the accompanying app to set this up.
Pricing For The Petcubes
All of these devices are more or less priced the same way. They can be purchased directly from the company’s website, or through Amazon. The prices on the company’s website tend to be a bit higher, so if you want to buy one you should do it through Amazon. Here are the basic prices for each type of petcube available:
Pay attention to the prices above, because they’re always subject to change. Also, be aware that these prices are only for the devices themselves – they don’t include the costs of the pet cameras or Wi-Fi. Those will have to be bought separately, and obviously the costs for those will vary depending on what you already have installed in your home.
What You’ll Need To Set Up A Petcube
As we mentioned earlier, not every type of petcube comes with everything you need to get it working properly. The good news is that everything you’ll need can be picked up fairly cheaply, and most of it will probably be things you’re already familiar with. Here’s what you’ll need:
The type of pet camera you have (wired or wireless) will determine what type of power supply you need.
As for the Wi-Fi, if you’re setting up a regular petcube then this obviously isn’t an issue. However, if you’re setting up a WiFi petcube then you’ll also need to have a strong internet connection. If you don’t, then the app won’t be able to access your camera.
Other than these few things, you just need to have an Android or iOS device (smartphone or tablet) that can connect to your home’s WiFi network.
Finally, you’ll also need to set aside a bit of time in order to properly set up everything. This shouldn’t take more than an hour or two, and your petcube’s quickstart guide will walk you through everything step by step. The hardest part will be drilling holes if you want to mount the camera onto your wall, but that’s not a necessary step. You can just place it on a shelf or other flat surface instead.
The Bottom Line
Petcube cameras are a great way to make sure your pets are safe while you’re away from home. If you feel as if you’re already spending too much time with your pets then these devices could help mitigate that problem. However, if you feel as if you’re missing out on spending time with your pets because you’re always at work or busy doing other things then these cameras could also help resolve that issue.
Regardless of which reason is the most important to you, petcubes are a great way to keep tabs on your pets. Not only can you see what they’re up to, but you can also interact with them as well at any time. There’s no more worrying about coming home to a dead pet because you didn’t realize how cold it was in the house or how long they’d been without food or water.
